Who we are
About Us
We are two high school students in Melbourne keen to create a change in the world. This led the the creation of our foundation helping homeless people have access to a good night's sleep. RestRight Foundation is devoted to alleviating homelessness by providing essential sleeping mattresses to individuals in need. We believe that everyone deserves a comfortable place to rest, which is why we focus on charitable initiatives that restore dignity and bring hope to those facing challenging circumstances.

How did it all begin?
Our Story
It all began during a PE class. Aaron and I had just finished running laps under the hot afternoon sun, exhausted and desperate for a break. We dropped our bags and lay flat on the concrete outside the gym, joking at first about how uncomfortable it was, until the laughter faded and the heat and hardness of the ground became unbearable. That’s when I said, “Imagine if this were your bed every night.” The thought stuck with us. Over the next few days we read about homelessness and the importance of sleep, realising that what was a few minutes of discomfort for us was a nightly struggle for thousands. Sleep isn’t just rest; it’s survival.
At school the following week, all we did was brainstorm ways to help. We wanted something portable, simple, and capable of making an instant difference. Inflatable air mattresses were the answer. We started small, handing them out across Melbourne’s CBD, and we’ll never forget the first man’s bright reaction when he received one. That moment sparked the creation of the RestRight Foundation, a student-led initiative built on one belief: every person deserves the right to sleep safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Our Three Values
Before establishing the RestRight Foundation, we decided that every member or volunteer should take on three values that not only represent the foundation, the heart of our mission, but to also guide our actions.

Compassion
Compassion is at the heart of our mission. We recognise that homelessness is a deeply human struggle, and we approach every person with empathy, understanding, and kindness. Through our actions, we aim to provide not just a mattress, but a moment of comfort and care that reminds people they are seen and valued.

Practical Impact
We focus on simple, effective solutions that make an immediate difference. Inflatable mattresses may seem modest, but they quickly turn cold pavement into a safer, more comfortable place to rest. This value drives us to stay hands-on and efficient, ensuring every effort directly improves someone’s night.

Dignity
We believe every person deserves to sleep with dignity. Homelessness should never take away someone’s sense of worth or humanity. By providing clean, portable, and comfortable sleeping options, we aim to restore a basic level of comfort and security that everyone deserves. This value guides us to ensure that every interaction and every mattress we provide reinforces the message that their wellbeing mat
